Targetting one single person like that just makes it more obvious how you are trying to attract flaming comments. If you wan't to pick a fight with someone, go do it somewhere else, we don't care, stop trolling the forums.
On the other hand, I agree that this is a (from a players view) nuisance, quite unnecessary, but yet, if I was the promoter, I would've done the same, anything that makes me sell my games will help.
